Frequently asked questions
What homeowners ask us most often: the work, the estimate, and what happens once a crew is inside.
Services and service area
What we do, and where we do it.
What painting services do you offer?
Nine services, each with its own page covering the surfaces it includes, the process, and recent project photos:
What areas do you serve?
Westchester County, NY and Fairfield County, CT. Our shop is at 60 Goldens Bridge Rd in Katonah, NY, so the towns nearest it are the ones we reach fastest. If your town is not on our areas page, call (914) 537-2468 and ask. We cover surrounding communities on request.
How long has Genesis Pro Painting been in business?
Painting professionally since 1998. Genesis Pro Painting was established in 2004. Since then we have completed more than 3,000 projects, paint over 300 homes a year, and hold more than 250 five-star reviews on Google and over 400 across all platforms. More about the company and the team is on our about page.
Getting an estimate
How a project goes from a first call to a proposal you can read.
How do I get an estimate?
Schedule a consultation on this site or call (914) 537-2468. The estimate comes from an on-site visit, not from a form. Genesis Macedo, the owner, walks the project with you himself. There is no cost for the visit.
What happens during the consultation?
We review the rooms and surfaces on site, look at conditions, repairs, and prep needs, and align on timing, color, and expectations. You then receive a clear written proposal that lists everything included, what is not included, and how the project will be handled.
Do you publish prices?
No. Price depends on the surfaces, their condition, how much prep and repair the work needs, and the finishes chosen, so a number published on a website would be a guess. Each service page explains what drives cost for that specific service, and your proposal carries the actual figure.
Preparation, materials, and quality
What happens once the crew is at your house.
How do you protect my home while you work?
Floors and furnishings are protected before any painting starts, prep is done in detail rather than rushed, and the jobsite is cleaned at the end of each day. Protecting the house is treated as part of the job, not as an extra.
What do I need to do before the crew arrives?
Very little. Once the proposal is approved we confirm the start date and the access details with you, and the crew handles protection and prep. Anything specific to your home (a room to keep clear, a pet, a delivery window) is agreed during the consultation so there are no surprises on day one.
What paint and materials do you use?
Products are chosen per surface and per exposure rather than from a single default list, because a bathroom ceiling, a kitchen cabinet door, and south-facing siding do not ask for the same thing. The finish for each surface is part of what we agree at the consultation, and each service page explains which finishes suit which surfaces.
Do you help with choosing colors?
Yes. We have an in-house color specialist, and design and color guidance is one of our nine services. It covers paint colors, wallpaper, and sheen: which finish belongs on which surface, not only which color.
How do you check the work before calling it done?
A named project manager stays in contact with you throughout the project, so questions have one person to go to rather than a general line. The project closes with a final walkthrough together and any touch-ups that walkthrough turns up.
Warranty, timing, and contact
After the walkthrough, and how to reach us.
Is your work under warranty?
Yes. Every project carries a three-year craftsmanship warranty. We also remain available afterwards for maintenance questions and for additional rooms or services.
How long will my project take?
It depends on the surfaces, the amount of prep and repair, and the number of coats, so the schedule is confirmed in your proposal rather than estimated in advance. Each service page gives the typical range for that service: cabinet refinishing, for example, usually runs about one to two weeks for a kitchen.
How do I reach you?
